Start the countdown...

25 more days to go until I hit a quarter century old. 25. I vaguely remember ribbing the Hell out of Lix a couple of years ago, so chances are she'll do the same to me. On the plus side, I'm surrounded by hot chicks - so there's a birthday present right there and then...although in my mind I'm concocting up pornographic and very highly improbable scenarios involving me and Serena and a few hours/days alone. Back on topic brain.

Well, if I want to be totally honest, it starts off just the 2 of us and then others join in. Oh man...I need to focus back on my work.

Another countdown I'm running: The time until I download Kamen Rider Decade: All Riders VS Daishocker and get it onto my iPhone. And watch it of course. Kuuga Rising Ultimate and giant Kamen Rider J turning into Decade Complete Jumbo. I've already watched most of the Vs Sentai movies, so a Kamen Rider Vs movie will do until Movie War 2010 is subbed and upped.

OK...back to work yet again.

Yayness..and ouch

Happy belated New Year to those still with me and to any new readers that I may have picked up along the way. January is nearing a close and that means it's time for the first blog post about nothing to go up for 2010. So, January is coming to a close, eh? What happened in this magical month of mystery and wonderment?

Cristina started work in ye Olde Marketing department and has moved into the freezer. I've pretty much stopped being a marketing guy (except in name only) and have moved onto commissions...until a new person is hired to take over this job - then I can be marketing again (and do the all-important thing of seeing Serena on a more regular basis)! Commissions...where to start with these? Hell on an A4 page...but kinda fun to do. Yup...I just said that commissions are fun to do; Hell can't get any colder than this room. But not as fun as some bits of marketing...and my brain is about to go into the place I don't want it to go...oh Hell, I'll let it go those places. Might be good to get blood flowing around my body at a fast rate anyway. (Yeah...remember about me saying that one of the better parts of Marketing was seeing Serena on a regular basis? Guess who walked in the door? Hello daily Serena fix! (Man, I sound like a junkie...) Must also remember to force myself to look at her face more often and not at other...more eye-level parts of wonderment and hypnotism.)

Reruns of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are showing in the US. Reruns with 60's Batman additions placed onto them. Cheesy as Hell, but barely watchable. Watching RPm and Kamen Rider Decade again until Goseiger starts up...or maybe I'll DL and watch the last 2 eps of Shinkenger - even though I didn't really like that series as much (Needs more Yumi Sugimoto or Japanese Gravure idols). Same goes with Double...not exactly my cup of tea; though I might DL the eps with FangJoker and when Double eventually gets his "Complete" form. of course I'm going to DL the subbed version of All Riders when it comes out.

Finally upgraded my phone to an iphone. had to change my Sim card as well...so I still have my old phone and my old SIM card...just not in use. Plus, I deleted all of my old messages from Nisha - can't believe I did that. Oh well. Past is past. And I need a new phone anyway cause I'm going to KL at the end of March! Freedom from commissions for a few weeks! But also no Serena...except mental images. Plus all the other apps I have on my iphone will keep me company. And God, I'll need the company to ensure Jade doesn't piss me off as usual. Got my leave approved, got my ticket paid for and have gotten a new phone. Ah...this is the life.

Or rather it would be if I didn't just incur one Hell of a bitten tongue. Not just a regular nip at the sides, but a godawful crunch. Bled like hell for around 3 hours before stopping and balooning up and out. Swollen as hell now and very tender. Had a peek at it last night and it looked as ugly as hell. Looked this morning and it looked better; but not worse. Which is always a good thing. Had another look just then. Healing well, but I have to chew on my left side until it's 100% healed.

And yes, I'm a Serena junkie...as if you don't know that already.

Time to get back to work before the boss catches me again.

Plants Vs Zombies...where did the time go?

Well, won't be closing the book on this year just yet. At work for yet another day (the last one...I promise!) and am rather bored already...despite having come in about 30 mins ago. Time to blog about the game that has stolen more hours from me in the past week than pretty much anything else this year...with maybe a few exceptions (Disgaea, Dissidia, Valkyrie Profile and thinking of one Serena Gurung spring to mind...).

The game is Plants vs Zombies, a rather cute strategy game whose flash animations barely scratch the surface of the serious gameplay. Serious, challenging, frantic and seriously psychotic gameplay. It's a tower defense game - which means you build defences against hordes of enemies. In PvZ, you plant...plants, which help you defend, freeze, slow or nuke the zombies in question. The primary currency is solar power which can be gotten in one of 3 ways - Sunflowers, Sun Shrooms (only at night) or what falls from the sky. You actually have to click on it to pick it up though or it's gone until the next drop-off...which sucks if you need it for a peashooter.

That being said, the main weapon of choice are: Peas. Lots and lots of peas. Single shooters, repeaters, Gatling peas, threepeaters and even snow peas for slowing the already slow Zombies. There are other weapons such as the free spore shroom and aqua shroom, the magnet shroom, ice shroom and aptly named doom shroom - Massive damage, but leaves a crater on your lawn. Yeah, you fight on the lawn. And on the roof. And in the pool.

I could go on and on about it...but I need to get back to work. Then go home and try to beat the survival modes to unlock Survival Endless.

Grr...

Well, the distribution thing with Murdoch books fell through. Reasoning was that the book was too much focus on me and my problems rather than the reader. Which wasn't the point; rather I was going for the idea of the reader learning from my mistakes.

Oh well, that sucks but what do you do? Mucho late for the Xmas rush and I'm kicking myself cause I just heard a news report on how books are the gift of choice this year. Massive ass kicking on the self. Oh well...new New Years resolution - to see my books in at least one bookshop by Xmas 2010.

That said, I'm at work this week as well. Even though my leave application says I'm on leave this week, the boss informed me yesterday that since I'm working an extra couple of days (on my leave), I can take a couple of more days off at the start of next term. Even if she forgets it, I'm not going to forget it.

Merry Xmas/religious equivalent to the readers of this blog (all 8 or so of you) and see you in the new year!

O.O...

http://www.smh.com.au/technology/technology-news/internet-addiction-linked-to-selfharming-among-teens-20091203-k7a5.html

OK, this blog was supposed to be about something else (namely Serena wearing a little black dress - meaning that she reads this blog or is secretly telepathic), but it's gone to another interesting little article about how the Internet is brainwashing everyone.

Apparently one in six people (out of a total of just over 1600) were cutting themselves or some form of self harm during the testing period. Um...WHAT? Self harm over surfing the internet? I find it incredibly amusing that in this so-called "scientific study" there's no mention at all about what sites were visited or the mental states of the test subjects. For all we (the readers) know, the scientists could have told the subjects what to view - choosing the most violent and degraging material on the internet.

This is the part that holds the most Narm for me - Where they state that the subjects "fantasised about the internet when they were not on it". HELLO! You fantasise about getting a dream job, money and your hot co-worker (or co-workers)! Not about the internet...unless they mean thinking out strategies for the next round of WoW. Or planning tactics for Starcraft. Or even thinking about what movies they were going to download. I don;t know about you, but "Fantasising about the internet" sounds...well, disturbing. It's not like the Internet has an anthrophomorphic representation...

Just when you think it couldn't get any worse, the scientists show one small bit of intelligence:

"Internet addiction and self-injurious behaviour can both be considered as part of the spectrum of impulse control disorders," they said. "All these behaviours may be rooted in some common factors that require further exploration."

Finally, they show some grey matter and say "Oh, yeah, they're not really linked, but they could be."

No fucking shit. And dying can be linked to guns, bombs, cars and excess eating - but you don;t see any "scientific discoveries" about them.

Xmas Party Blankness.

Friday was the ACA Xmas party. Better than last year's by a mile...but also stranger and more random. Kinda scooted out of work earlier...but forgot to duck home to re-apply my BO-deterrent. Not good on my part. Especially when walking to Chinatown in F hot heat. No Part 2 of that Kamen Rider Kabuto DVDs, but there was a DVD with all of the Showa era Kamen Rider movies. Should have gotten that...or the DVD for the Den-O/DCD Xover movie. Then again, I have that on my iPod. That was at around 5:15. Dinner started at 7...yeah. Bit early, but I went there to try to find out where it was. Found it...but was faced with the small issue of there being no one there. Bludged in Hyde Park and watched Turtles Forever and Things Not Said...but kinda stopped watching after the Rangers were in the Battlefleet and Tyzonne, oh, I don't know...DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP! Yes, Ty, screaming out "YOU CAN DO IT RANGERS!!" is MUCH better than calling the Flashpoint to help...then again, it's Overdrive by Kalish.

That took me up till abour 6:45 and I thought I should go there to see who was there - seeing as how last year there were people there already. Wishful thinking on my part. No one there...until 10 minutes later when Cristina and Raluca came. Christina...god, major Fetish Fuel there for me: Black, silky and short. Blood kinda went away from the upper regions for a bit but came back a bit later. And went down again. At least I didn't feel cold. Decided to go in and talked for a while. Gaby and Mr Campbell came later and talking soon after. Learned some interesting tips for bringing up children...but seeing as how I don't really have a GF (in reality anyway), not much I can do about that.

Others came in after that (well, about 7:35 or so) - namely the hotties (who don't read this blog.) Serena and Caroline. And the rest of Marketing...but we still sat around and talked. Well, I sat around, observed and finally got dragged over to the group of Marketing and Admin girls by Serena. Didn't mind that and wouldn't mind if she tried it in a more physical way...goin off topic here. Back on track, bro. Didn't mind the pseudo-blackmail material photo either. Just wish there were more chicks involved...OK! Gonna slam my brain into something if it drags me off topic and into the land of fantasy. Serious mode now. Gave away 2 copies of my book and found out that the Universe wanted me there. Plus, I would've felt shit if I'd gone home at 5...

FINALLY got onto the eating...and I found myself on the not-so-serious side of the table (read: Admin/Marketing girls) and near the triangle of sexiness - Serena on my right, Caroline in front and Cristina to the upper right. Yeah...hard time concentrating there. No pun intended. Caroline and two others got a coconut and I was treated to the sight of Caroline sucking. BAD BRAIN! Please stop trying to kill me... On the other side was Erick "Passion" Paixao and the Tourism teachers. Apparently France is the dirtiest country in the world. 2nd is England. Entrees aplenty coupled with daily intakes of contortions, freakiness, air spankings and a collective scream/shout of awe and disgust that literally made all other conversation in the room (and quite possibly the restaurant) ceased for a period of 10 seconds. Didn't go crazy then...surrounded by hot chicks (including Serena; who - if you've read this blog - is #1 on the hotness list. Caroline is 2nd and Christina a 3rd). Mains served up next: Fish and chicken curry. Stayed well away from the chicken curry, but the fish was good - up until the part where I crunched down on ginger and lemongrass. Mmm...good. Not. Downed a glass and a halfish of water to get that taste out of my mouth. Also downed a glass and a bit of white wine.

Yup...Japanese started coming out of my mouth; various Henshin poses as well (Kuuga, Diend and Ryuki/Dragon Knight) as well as the first verse of Journey Through The Decade and Ride The Wind. Thankfully that was about the time when the ladies started belting out Bon Jovi songs...so that was good. And then they started singing "Livin On A Prayer" and my alcohol-fueled mind kicked into battle scene creation. Must have about 17 different songs for that one battle scene. >.< and that's only on The Ultra Crystals. That was around 9:30ish and everything was winding down...and then Monica started singing "Always" and that flashed me to a future bit of TinyWarz Rangers...of all things. Dishes were cleared away and people were getting antsy. Dessert finally came round - lychee ice cream. Yummy and so worth it to see Serena slurp up something white and runny. And my brain just seized up due to that imagery.

After that, it kinda gets a bit fuzzy. I remeber leaving, saying bye to Serena (specifically), catching a cab, the ride down Elizabeth street and those drunken yobbos and paying $15 to to driver. And thats about it. Blankness until 7:35 when I woke up the nezxt morning. No idea WTF I did during the time I came home to when I slept. Hopefully I didn't drunken SMS anyone or drunk call Nisha...though I have a strange feeling I did one of those things...

Ah well...I'm sure I'll find out about it soon.

Turtles Forever

I've finally watched it. Twice. Turtles Forever; the X-over between the OT Turtles and theNT Turtles. And the Mirage Turtles straight from Volume 1: Issue 1. Shout Outs and Mythology gags aplenty and a great cameo by Tokka and Rahzar from the 2nd movie. Lots of TMNT orgasm-inducers from the shot of the TMNT multiverse, the OT Shredder calling Ch'rell insane and the Mirage TMNT posing in straight-from-the-comics shots.

A few little niggles here and there, but man - it was great. I literally laughed out loud when Ch'rell had his little freak out when the Mirage NT jumped on his bodysuit. When the Mirage Shredder appeared and was easily dispatched...just too funny. OT Shredder chasing after and pinning Krang down; finally he gets revenge for putting up with Krang's shit. Chills abound when the Mirage NT showed up and the music changed.

All the musical letimotifs were there - Ch'rell's scare chord, NT Mikey's "Rockin'" and even a kinda-there-but-not-really version of the old TMNT battle theme. That kinda reminded me of Adam's not-quite MMPR theme from Once A Ranger. And speaking of the OT Turtles...god. What to say about them? Amped up the silliness of the old cartoon and got it to the point where NT Mikey snapped. Return of the Party Wagon/Turtle van and the Turtle Blimp...though I don't think the blimp had the laser on it (and I think it was more durable than a One Hit Point Wonder).

The ending was damn good as well. Deus Ex Machina thoug...Bebop and Rocksteady saving the TMNT multiverse. Just don't sit right with me. At least Krang had a crack at it...and got cut down 5 seconds later.

Ah...3rd watching of Turtles Forever coming soon!
